"Zumba" comes from the Colombian word meaning fun and fast moving. Zumba Gymnastics is a fun and easy to follow series of sports or heart exercises. This dance-based aerobic movement is accompanied by a blend of Latin and international music, with a combination of fast and slow rhythms.
Zumba was created accidentally by Alberto Perez, an aerobics instructor who forgot to bring the music he used to use. Then, he plays the dance music he used to dance. When doing aerobics with the music, the participants really liked it. Told a businessman, in 2002, Perez began selling gymnastics DVDs with Latin music which they named Zumba.
The gymnastics became global when Perez began writing guides and giving Zumba training. Now, Zumba has been practiced in more than 40 countries. - For starters, take classes that offer Zumba movements for beginners. There are types of Aqua Zumba with slower rhythms and Gold Zumba for the elderly.
- Be sure to warm up beforehand and cool down afterwards.
- Wear clothes and shoes that are comfortable to move, because Zumba involves a lot of spinning movements.
- Avoid dehydration by consuming water when paused.
- Avoid wearing jewelry to prevent the risk of falling, snagging, or scratching.
- Dancing for pregnant women can be an ideal sport. However, slow down movement and limit movement. Avoid moving excessively.
